Linguists are an important part of :piksie experience. With your contributions, :piksie will appeal to a far greater audience.

Are you proficient in multiple languages? Do you have good grammar skills? Are you passionate about communicating with people? Read on to learn how to become a linguist on :piksie.

Eligibility

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
• Must have good grammar and spelling skills in English and the other language(s) that you want to provide your services
• Must be able to maintain a professional and collaborative attitude at all times
• You will have to provide a copy of a picture ID and a signed W9 form in order to participate in the revenue sharing program. You may sign up and -- once approved -- have full MVP privileges without providing the documents mentioned but you will not be eligible for the revenue sharing program till you provide all the necessary documents. This is required by the IRS and you may not be paid until the necessary documentation is established.

Responsibilities

• The main responsibility of linguists is to keep translations of material as close to its original as possible while maintaining the original idea conveyed
• Linguists have to work very closely with MVPs in order to make all the information available in a timely fashion. Some examples include: helping MVPs respond to product questions or helping them evaluate product videos that are in the language that you support

The Revenue Sharing Program

Once you are approved as a linguist and provided all the necessary documents, you are eligible to participate in the revenue sharing program. For full details of the program, please click here. Here are some highlights:

• Linguists earn a percentage of direct product sales generated when the sale is initiated from product showcase page in the language supported by the linguist. This may be better explained by an example: If you are the Spanish linguist for Product A and a consumer clicks to make a purchase after viewing the page in Spanish, you will receive a percentage of that sale.

What you may do

• You are encouraged to support as many products as you can handle. This is the primary way linguists can increase their earning potential.
• You may play multiple roles in :piksie. For example: you can be the MVP for Product A and provide videos for other products and support yet other products as a linguist. However, you may not provide videos for the product for which you are the MVP.
• You are also encouraged to look at translations provided by other linguists and report any inconsistencies to products' MVPs. This will only improve the overall quality of information provided by :piksie.
• You are encouraged to direct people with product expertise and/or product videos to :piksie
• You are also encouraged to link your social networking pages to :piksie -- especially your product showcase page
• You are encouraged to spread the word on :piksie. Growing the :piksie family is beneficial to all
