Revenue sharing program allows people across the globe to lend their knowledge, expertise and passion for a common goal and have the potential to earn money at the same time. Through RSP, :piksie shares the revenue generated from product sales with those who have made that sale happen. It is important to understand that there are no guarantees for income as :piksie cannot predict or guarantee product sales on piksie.com. Here is the way RSP works:
33% of revenue generated through direct product sales goes to our MVPs, Producers, Linguists and Super MVPs who have signed up for the Revenue Sharing Program. It's also important to understand that MVPs, Producers, Linguists and SuperMVPs receive their share only from those sales for which they made contributions. For example, if a Brand X MP3 Player was sold, only the MVP who manages the showcase channel for Brand X MP3 Player receives a percentage of the sale. This applies to producers, linguists and SuperMVPs as well.
The 33% is distributed among the MVP, Producer(s), Linguist and SuperMVP(s) in the following fashion:
- The MVP receives 15% of the commission :piksie generated from the sale of the product whose showcase channel he/she manages
- 15% of the commission generated from the sale of the product is distributed among producers whose videos appear on the showcase channel for the product
- 3% of the commission generated from the sale of the product is distributed among Super MVPs who oversee the product category involved in the sale
Here's a graphic representation of how the RSP works:

In this example, the customer is buying an MP3 player for $100 and the showcase channel for this MP3 player has two videos produced by two different producers i.e. Producer 1 and Producer 2. Here's the way the money is distributed:
- The merchant pays :piksie $7 commission (based on a 7% commission rate) and receives the rest of the money which is $93. We also indicated in the diagram that the merchant pays for credit card charges for the transaction.
- :piksie then gives 15% of its commission from this sale to the MVP who is in charge of the showcase channel for the MP3 player sold. This translates to:
$7 x 15% = $1.05
- :piksie will also distribute another 15% of its commmission among all the producers whose videos appeared on the MP3 player's showcase channel at the time of the transaction. In our example, because there are two videos on the product's showcase channel, producers who made those videos will split the 15% commission equally. This means:
$7 x 15% = $1.05 divided by two = $0.52 per producer
(For simplicity we have rounded the commission per producer down to 52 cents. The actual commission is 52.5 cents. All commissions are registered in their full amounts without any rounding up or down.)
- In our example, there's only one SuperMVP who is overseeing the entire category. This means 3% of :piksie's commission will go to the only SuperMVP. The dollar amount for the SuperMVP's share comes to $7 x 3% = $0.21
At the end, 33% of the $7 :piksie has made from this sale will go to those who made the transaction possible. In our example, the money is distributed among one MPV, two producers and one SuperMVP.
Let's now look at a numeric example involving monthly sales for a product:
-
Scenario: Let's say Product A has produced the following sales in the month of June:
Product's Price: $200.00
Number of units sold: 50
Total Sales Generated: $200 x 50 = $10,000.00
:piksie Earnings: $10,000 x 7% = $700.00 (based on 7% commission)
Number of Videos/Producers: 10 (each video produced by a different producer)
Number of Super MVPs for the entire category: 3
| MVP |
15% |
$700 x 15% = $105.00 |
| 10 Producers |
15% |
$700 x 15% = $105.00 divided among 10 producers Each receiving $10.50 |
| 3 Super MVPs |
3% |
$700 x 3% = $21.00 divided among 3 Super MVPs Each receiving $7 |
-
In this scenario, let's add a second language and a linguist into the mix:
Product's Price: $200.00
Number of units sold: 50 units (English) + 20 units (Spanish) = 70 units total
Total Sales Generated in English: $200 x 50 = $10,000.00
Total Sales Generated in Spanish: $200 x 20 = $4,000.00
Total Sales: $200 x 70 = $14,000.00
:piksie Earnings: $14,000 x 7% = $980.00 (based on 7% commission)
Number of Videos: 10 (each produced by a different producer)
Number of Super MVPs for the entire category: 3
Number of Linguists for the product: 1
| MVP |
15% (English) 7.5% (Spanish) |
$700 x 15% = $105.00 (English) $280 x 7.5% = $21.00 (Spanish) -------------------------- $126.00 (Total) |
| 10 Producers |
15% |
$980 x 15% = $147.00 divided among 10 producers Each receiving $14.70 |
| 3 Super MVPs |
3% |
$980 x 3% = $29.40 divided among 3 Super MVPs Each receiving $9.80 |
| 1 Linguist |
7.5% of sales in Spanish |
$280 x 7.5% = $21.00 |
As you can see, these are very real numbers. Our goal here at :piksie is to grow together and we believe that :piksie is the platform where everyone wins!
Strategies to increase earning potential
MVPs increase their earning potential simply by managing more showcase channels. Each MVP can manage up to 10 showcase channels, provided that he/she maintains a rating of 4.0 or better for each and every showcase channel managed. Another way for MVPs to increse their earning potential is to do a great job and become Super MVPs. When an MVP becomes a Super MVP, he/she will no longer manage the products that were under his/her supervision. However, Super MVPs are in charge of an entire category of products. Therefore, they have the highest earning potential. Furthermore, MVPs can also make videos and increase their earning potential as producers.
Producers have the most flexibility in increasing their earning potential. Here's how:
- First, there is no limit to how many videos producers can have and participate in the RSP. However, for videos to be included in the RSP, they must be approved by MVPs. :piksie has entrusted this responsibility with MVPs and in order to make sure that MVPs do a good job and make fair decisions, Super MVPs are placed in charge of MVPs and Producers.
- Here's a great strategy: Producers can produce videos that apply to multiple products. For example, if a producer makes a great video that compares similar products in a category which would greatly help consumers in showing them the pros and cons of each product, this video can appear in the showcase channels of those products that are covered by the video. Clearly, this video has a high earning potential because it would be tapping into the sales of multiple products. It's important to remember that the video must be approved by the MVP of each showcase channel.
Linguists share the same level of flexibility as Producers. There is no limit to the number of products a Linguist can be associated with. By increasing the number of products they translate, they can very easily increase their income potential.
As mentioned above, Super MVPs have a great income potential simply because they are in charge of product categories that will contain hundreds, sometimes, thousands of products. Their job is to make sure that everyone else is doing their job.
