How can you help Japan

Like millions of people around the world, I watch on television the devastation caused by this incredibly powerful earthquake in Japan. I think we can all help our friends in Japan in some way. In this blog, I'm providing a list of organizations that have initiated efforts to help those who have been affected by the disaster. You can send your help through these organizations. If you're not able to make a monetary donation, a simple prayer will also go a long way.
I also want to let you know that Yo and his family are well and unaffected by the earthquake. As you know, my business partner in :piksie.com, Yoichi "Yo" Amitani is from Japan and lives in Kobe which is on the Western part of the country. I talked to him on the phone yesterday. He told me that Kobe / Osaka area is not affected by the earthquake. However, he told me that Tokyo was affected by the disaster due to outages in the infrastructure e.g. power, phone lines, etc. And in his own words North of Tokyo is completely devastated.
